Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Brief Description:-
Small businesses and even in towns, small companies and people of towns had a lot of problems, just like the people of towns and towns had a lot of problems, but Modi government announced a very good facility for all these problems, whose name is Shri Amrit Yojana.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji announced this Atal Mission ‘AMRUT Yojana’ for rejuvenation and urban transformation in the capital. Under this scheme, the central government will select small cities and towns or some sections of cities and establish basic facilities there. Rs 5000 crore has been allocated for this dream project of Modi.
The full name of the Pradhan Mantri AMRUT Yojana is ‘Atal Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation Mission’. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2015. The objective of this mission is to provide water supply and sewage connection in all the cities of the country. A target has been set to spend Rs 5000 crore on AMRUT for five years from the financial year 2015.
The towns or areas that will be selected under the AMRUT project will be provided with basic facilities such as. Electricity, water supply, sewer, septage management, garbage management, rainwater harvesting, new transport, parks for children, good roads and greenery all around, etc. will be developed. Apart from these, many such facilities will be provided through e-governance which will make the life of the people easier. There will be municipal committees under every area, which will take the responsibility of making this project successful.

Some important facts related to Amrit are as follows:
- This project to rejuvenate towns will be regularly audited in every area.
- Electricity bill, water bill, house tax etc. all facilities will be ensured through e-governance.
- The states which will take this project forward in a better way will be allocated upto 10 percent of the budget.
- This will be applicable in those towns only where the population is more than one lakh. 5. This will be applicable in those small towns through which small rivers pass.
- This will be applicable in those hilly areas and islands where there is more scope of tourism.
- The budget allocation will also be increased for those states whose governments will take this forward in a better way.
- Those projects which remained incomplete under JNNURM will also come under Amrit.
- The incomplete projects of JNNURM will be completed under Amrit by 2017.
